GDPR & Data Protection Support

We can provide your business with help in complying with GDPR and Data Protection legislation. Whilst having a DPO (Data Protection Officer) is not mandatory for most businesses, complying with the legislation is mandatory for all.

Some Examples:

• SAR – do you have a compliance process mapped out for handling Subject Access Requests? We were contacted by a Family Law Solicitors firm who had received such a request from their client’s opponent. They had no process in place.
• Data Retention Policy – do you have one? Is it compliant? You are only supposed to retain data of customers for as long as absolutely necessary. The data is supposed to held securely.
• Records of Processing Activities – do you have this in place and up to date? Under Article 30 of the UK GDPR this is a mandatory document for most organisations, that maps all of your data collection and data flows.

• There are other documents and policies that are either mandatory or represent best practice, and importantly could help to ensure you are compliant should you ever be challenged

 The support is provided by our DPO team, headed, Nick Richards (DPO stands for Data Protection Officer). members of our DPO team are appointed as DPO by several firms. However, we appreciate that you may not wish to go to the formal step of appointing a DPO. So, we have unbundled this help and are offering this expertise to support you.

For this you can sign up for a retainer from just 1 hour of his time a month on a ‘use it or lose it basis’. You may choose to use that time to ask him to review what you have in place already and then advise on what needs to be done to make you compliant. Or to answer specific questions or to provide an hour’s training to your staff for that month. Price £200 + VAT a month, paid at the beginning of the month. This you can cancel with 3 calendar month’s notice.

Of course you could decide to reserve more of his time each month or appoint him as your DPO.
